1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cairn ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. Cairn is provided by Cairn ("we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Cairn is a coordination platform for humans and AI agents. The Service provides tools for project management through markdown files, real-time synchronization, and visibility into agent work. Cairn stores and syncs your project files using cloud infrastructure but does not execute AI agent tasks itself.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Promptly update your account information as needed
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create, upload, or store through the Service, including markdown files, project definitions, and project data ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your User Content solely to provide and improve the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring your User Content does not violate any applicable laws or infringe on the rights of others.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to it
• Upload malicious code or content designed to harm the Service or its users
• Use the Service to store or transmit content that infringes on intellectual property rights
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our written consent

6. Data and Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. Your project files are stored with per-user isolation and are not shared with other users unless you explicitly choose to do so.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain the Service's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime in advance.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by Cairn and protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use the Cairn name, logo, or trademarks without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cairn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases, but your User Content remains your property. We will make reasonable efforts to allow you to export your data.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
